New Orleans City Park.

New Orleans City Park is the fifth largest
urban park in the nation, encompassing 1,500 acres. Approximately 14
million visitors come through the Park each year to enjoy its magnificent
oak trees, picturesque statues and fountains, numerous sports and
recreational facilities, and many historic buildings. The area, once a
swampy, oak-filled forest, was home to Indians who traded by dug-out
canoes along the banks of Bayou St. John. City Park offers visitors both
fine arts and natural splendor, as the home of the New Orleans Museum of
Art and the largest collection of mature live oaks in the world. The
park's bridges, buildings and outdoor sculptures are a constant source of
delight to visitors.

Krewe of Bacchus.
http://www.kreweofbacchus.org/
The Krewe of Bacchus
parade was founded in 1968 by a handful of New Orleans business leaders
whose dream was to revitalize Carnival. The Krewe of Bacchus broke with
Carnival tradition by staging a Sunday night parade designed to be the
highlight of the Carnival season, with floats bigger and more spectacular
than anything previously seen in Carnival. Furthermore, Bacchus decided to
have a national celebrity king lead its parade, breaking ranks with 113
years of Carnival tradition. Now, Bacchus is revered as one of the most
innovative, influential and spectacular Mardi Gras parades in Carnival
history, with more than 950 members and 28 animated super-floats.
